Kitchens Just Got Connected with Amazon Dash

Even if you’re home is not on the bleeding edge of IoT development and you don’t already have a connected thermostat, front door or refrigerator, Amazon is piloting a way to connect your kitchen to the internet.

Fresh on the heels of the introduction of FireTv, Amazon’s latest offering called Dash, is a small device that allows anyone in the family to say or scan an item and add it to their AmazonFresh shopping list.

Restocking on frequent items just got easier – now all you do is scan the item before recycling the used container and, voila, it’s added to your shopping list.  Think of an item you want to purchase, no problem, just say the item into Dash and it can be on its way.

Amazon Dash In Use

Reorder One-Handed

According to Amazon’s website, here’s how it works:  “Dash connects to your home Wi-Fi network and works directly with your AmazonFresh account. Say or scan items into your Dash, and then view the list on your desktop or mobile device to purchase and schedule delivery.”

Oh, and it’s free as part of an invitation-only trial.  You can sign up here to see if you’re eligible.
